We stayed in a One Bedroom Harbour View Suite at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. Only stayed a couple of nights on a stopover from Hong Kong to Auckland.
The suites are pretty big and have a big balcony which was great for people watching as people walking along East Circular Quay to the Sydney Opera House. The balcony has a couple of chairs and table so you can have a coffee or eat out there whenever you want. You have separate bedroom and living room, spa bath and it’s probably one of the better “rooms” we’ve stayed in anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. Basically all the rooms at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour are suites, so you either choose a 1 or 2 bedroom, and then Garden or Harbour view. I presume the Harbour view suites are more expensive. It’s not an unimpeded view of the harbour, but you can see the Sydney harbour Bridge and it’s not bad.
Service at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour was as good as can be expected (western hotels simply don’t compare to asian hotels in terms of service), didn’t have much interaction with the staff but they seemed friendly enough. It was pretty busy when checking in and we took about 15 minutes which I can never understand. The room wasn’t ready as we arrived in the morning but that’s not the hotels fault.
Breakfast was mediocre, I mean nothing to complain about and nothing to rave about. There’s so many restaurants around the area that I don’t even remember if we ate in the hotel other than breakfast. Pretty sure we probably didn’t as they only had one restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There’s all the usual facilities including indoor swimming pool, Spa, Gym, 24 hour room service and a convenience store right next door to buy a few snacks and things. Overall a good stay and I’d be happy to come back here again anytime.
