Prague, Czech Republic

July 2017: Pretty much as expected, a nice European city with some history but I don't think I'll be rushing back there.

Having said that, I enjoyed Prague, but it’s not really a place I’d say I really want to go back to in a hurry, but have no problem recommending it to somebody who’s thinking about going there.  There’s not much there to say, “crikey I really want to go and do that again”, but at the same time I wish I’d spent say a week there (instead of 3 days), which I think would be plenty of time to get everything done.  I wasn’t that disappointed though with leaving and was looking forward to getting down to the Salzburg lakes district after being in Vienna and Prague for a week.

We didn’t see a lot of the museums and probably wasn’t there long enough to get a true taste of the city. Having said that, three days was long enough, although I think we could have spent a week (5 days) there if there were no kids around.  After 4 days of eating Wiener Schnitzel, I must admit I was absolutely hanging out for some asian food by the time we got here and luckily found a good Thai restaurant walking distance from out hotel.  You can check that out, as well as all the best things to do and see in Prague in Toucan’s Prague Map.

One of the things I enjoyed was a photo tour around the city for 3 hrs at night, you can walk around the city no problem, but it’s a city where you could easily be walking around and miss something rather good just around the corner.  Even if you’re not into photography that much, it’s almost worth doing to see some of the best photo spots. If you head over to the old town square you’ll appreciate more, what a great location this is as it’s away from the tourists yet close …
