Sydney Photography

There’s quite a people offering Sydney photography tours and courses but it’s so easy to get around and so nice to walk around that I’d just walk around and explore yourself. There’s a lot of nice shots to be had if you take the time to do a bit of research beforehand.

Although I didn’t particularly like or enjoy Sydney, I’d have to say there’s more photo opportunities here than in Melbourne or Brisbane.  In the city, of course the challenge is to get a shot of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge that you or nobody else has seen before. If I had more time, I’d head to the Shangrila Blu Bar, take 16 stops of ND Filters and take a Long exposure of both of them in one frame.  A 16mm or something similar should be fine, you can smooth out the water and get some trail lights of cars crossing the bridge.  Otherwise head across the other side of the harbour and take one of the Opera House at night.

Sydney Photography Tour

When you get out of the city, there’s some nice shots to be had of the coast and cliffs. Take your pick, there’s lovely walks all over Sydney’s beaches and coastline. Probably not a city I’d take a Sydney Photography Tour, for starters, they’re expensive.  An alternative is to hire a local Uni student or photography student looking for a bit of extra cash, and get them to take you around, or if you spend the time, you can find all the best Sydney photo spots by doing some research.  I’ll do some myself soon and will list all the best Sydney photo spots here for you to check out.

But honestly, just walk around the city and you’ll get some good shots.
