Here’s a few places to visit in Delhi for kids, but before that, you’re right, New Delhi is not the best place for young kids, it’s hot, humid, hectic, a bit dirty and the food won’t be enjoyed. But for older kids, it can be a great experience and if you’ve chosen to take younger or older kids here, here’s some places to visit in Delhi for kids.

First up, Bal Bhavan National Children’s Museum and Aquarium.  This place has some mixed reviews, I’d tend to believe the worse ones as you can see in the pictures it looks a bit worse for wear.  Unless you’re around that area or absolutely desperate to find places to visit in Delhi for kids, maybe give it a miss.

Adventure Island doesn’t look much better and by the sounds of things it’s just what you’d expect an amusement park in New Delhi to be.  Actually if you check out their website it looks marginally ok, at least a few rides and things to do for the kids.

Dilli Haat seems to be where tour buses from China would end up.  It’s a joint venture by Delhi Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism and Textile, and the Government of India so it’s permanent, and appears much cleaner than say venturing to one of the street markets. Basically it’s an arts and crafts market and presumably is one of the places to visit in Delhi for kids if you want to give them a bit of a taste of the local culture.

The National Zoological Park New Delhi looks not bad and I’d probably give that a go, especially as it’s basically in the city and not far a lot of other places you’re likely to go.  Sounds like some of the animals aren’t kept that well which isn’t surprising but probably worth spending a morning there to keep the kids happy in new Delhi.

Finally, and saving what appears to be one of the best places to visit in Delhi for kids, the Children’s Park at India gate is a massive park with jungle gyms, playgrounds and loads of open space and looks like a good place for kids in Delhi.  It’s got some good reviews so if was looking for places to visit in Delhi for kids, this is where I’d take them first.
