New Delhi, India

Was working during most of the time here at the nearby Delhi Golf Club so didn't get to see much of the city

Took my Dad to New Delhi as they were over in Hong Kong when I had to do go and do some Tour Support at an Asian Tour event at the Delhi Golf Club.  Basically we only had 3 days and I spent 2 of them working so can’t say this is going to be of much help.  This was my first time to New Delhi and overall I had a good time. During that time I’d been doing a lot of Asian Tour Support in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and China and I’d say the one I enjoyed the most was New Delhi.  The Delhi Golf Club is lovely and exactly what you’d expect, short tree-lined course but with loads of character. I’d have loved to have played it but was restricted to working.

On the last day I had a bit of time with my Dad so we did a bit (literally a bit), of sightseeing, went around parts of the city looking for something for Mum which was a bit of a failure but good to see some different parts of the city. I’m sure we got ripped off in taxis and things but it costs so little that you really have no right to complain or other arguing.  We headed over to the Red Fort which was pretty good and some of the surrounding streets and markets which was pretty full on then buggered off back to the hotel, which you can read a little bit more about here.

Mate of mine has been there so some of the things you’ll read about New Delhi here are from him. New Delhi is probably not ideal for kids, especially younger ones, like many part of India, but it’ll be a real eye opener for a lot of them especially if they’re used to a privileged expat life in somewhere like Hong Kong.
