Didn’t take a lot of photos this trip and not many that I liked.  Pretty typical holiday snapshot stuff and the usual video from the now broken Sony FDR-X3000 which was getting outdated anyway and being surpassed by other brands.  If I was to go again I’d take the Olympus TG-5, my trusty Fuji X100F and the Insta360 One X.  No need for massive lenses really although they’re always handy to have, the amount you’d probably use them doesn’t equal the amount of effort required to carry them around.  I also took the Leica MP but have recently gone off shooting film for some reason.

Anyway, I don’t see the point of taking a fast lens like the 56mm 1.2 shooting it wide open on holidays because it essentially renders the location useless and you don’t know where you are if you’re shooting wide open and after the bokeh.  Anyway, there’s not need for anything extra wide in Ishigaki, a little compact like the Fuji X100 or Ricoh GRIII will do the trick and I really only take the Olympus TG-5 for video at the beach and snorkeling.
