Also take an underwater camera, for me that’s just the Sony FDR X300, some parts can be a bit murky underwater but if the suns out you can get some okay shots of the tropical fish. The beach is nice, but the sun sets on the other side of the Island. Go down early morning when not many people are around and you’ll get some good unimpeded candid family shots.
One thing to note here, they pump the air conditioning up in the hotel to max freezing, so whenever you take your camera out of the room, or out of the restaurant, it’ll fog up. Take some big plastic zip lock bags, stick your camera in that and put it outside for 15-20 minutes before you go out to prevent it from fogging up. Worked a treat for me.
I took both film and digital, but if I was to go again, I’d only shoot film and take a GoPro or something similar for the underwater shots.
