Noah’s Ark Hong Kong

This is a bit of a weird resort/kids attraction/beach on Ma Wan or Park Island as it's more commonly called.

First up, if you’re a tourist thinking about going to Noah’s Ark Hong Kong, don’t be in too much of a hurry to get out here.  It’s alright for a half day trip for something to do, or perhaps if you’re in staying in Hong Kong for a few weeks and really struggling for things to do in Hong Kong with kids. Otherwise, give it a miss, you’re won’t be missing out on too much.

Noah's Ark Hong Kong

I went here with Grobbler after about 5 years of living in Hong Kong.  Nice day, middle of summer.  Get the Ferry out, it’s about 30 minutes and about $27 for visitors (cheaper if you live there and have a registered Octopus card).  The ferries go every 15 minutes in the morning until around 10a.m, then every half an hour.  Not so frequent during weekends, every 30 minutes from Central but from Park island to central only hourly.  Check the website above for the most updated times and pricing.

Once you get off the ferry you walk about 10 minutes to Noah’s Ark Hong Kong.  The main entrance isn’t that easy to find, but just keep walking near the water and you’ll eventually come across it.  It’s basically a replica of surprise, surprise, Noah’s Ark with some fake animal statues outside.  That part is ok but your kids aren’t going to go too crazy about that.

Noah's Ark Hong Kong

Inside Noah’s Ark Hong Kong is some type of education center/expo/play room thingy-ma-jingy.  There’s an area for kids to explore with some music instruments and science museum type stuff but I really think Noah’s Ark Hong Kong doesn’t quite know exactly what it is. There’s also the Noah’s Ark Hong Kong Resort. I have no idea who would stay there, perhaps if you had family or friends living on Park Island you might stay there I guess, but Noah’s Ark Hong Kong isn’t really (at all) a place you could spend much longer than half a day at.

Noah's Ark Hong Kong

I’m glad we gave Noah’s Ark Hong Kong a visit, but Grobbler has never once asked to go back. There’s an outdoor playground there that’s a bit shite, a restaurant which looks equally shite, but there’s a few shops and places to eat back towards the ferry.  To conclude, if you’re visiting Hong Kong thinking about going to Noah’s Ark Hong Kong, I’d probably say give it a miss unless you’re in Hong Kong for a long stay. If you live in Hong Kong then go there once, it’s an ok way to spend half a day and you’ve exhausted all over things to do in Hong Kong.
