The Kowloon Walled City Park Kids Bike Track Hong Kong is one of quite a few good bike tracks in Hong Kong for kids, which include Inspiration Lake amongst others. Unless you live around the area, you’re probably not going to go there just for the bike track (although we did), and if you make the effort get here, then it’s worth taking a look at Kowloon Walled City Park, which is basically just that, a park but forget about seeing any remnants of a walled city.
Kowloon Walled City Park Kids Bike Track Hong Kong is a small (big for Hong Kong) bike track with some a few little ups and downs and some nice corners, probably better suited for those kids who have just got going on two wheels and left the training wheels behind. Bigger kids, say 6+, who have been honing around on their bikes for a while will probably find it a bit boring after a while but if you’ve got younger ones just learning or as mentioned, just off training wheels, this is ideal for around an hour.
The best thing about Kowloon Walled City Park Kids Bike Track Hong Kong is that you don’t need take or have a bike. There’s a bike hire shop at the start of the track with hundreds of bikes so you’ll never have to worry about not getting one and the staff there speak excellent English and are unusually friendly and joyful, and a big part of the reason we’ve been back here a few times. I think it’s around HKD$60 or $70 to hire an adult bike for an hour, you almost certainly won’t need any longer than that.
Park at the nearby Kowloon City Plaza, or in the unlikely event that’s full, there’s Champion Court Car Park at the intersection of Junction Road and Carpenter Road. You’ll need to be heading north on Carpenter Road to access it. Once you’re done, you can take a look around Kowloon Walled City Park which is alright (check out the full review here), and then head to Kowloon City Plaza. Inside here is pretty local but there’s a few restaurants and a racing car track but you need to be over 120cm to do that.
Kowloon Walled City Park Kids Bike Track Hong Kong is actually officially called Carpenter Road Park Cycling Track, it’s not as long or as nice as something like Inspiration Lake or to be honest, most of the other bike tracks for kids in Hong Kong, but if you’re looking for something different to do and haven’t been to Kowloon Walled City Park, it’s worth a visit.
