Kodak Pro Image 100 is marketed as the ideal portrait and wedding film and for good reason. It’s got some beautiful muted tones and produces realistic skin tones with subdued colour saturation. I only recently discovered this film at my favourite film shop in Hong Kong (OutPut ProLab), and bought a box of 5 rolls, shot them all on a short holiday to Cebu in the Philippines.
I don’t tend to shoot a lot of 100 speed film but since I knew we’d be outdoors in the sun most of the time, knew it wasn’t going to be too much of an issue. Wouldn’t say I was absolutely thrilled to bits with the results but more than happy so will go buy a bunch more boxes and see what else I can use it for.
Kodak Pro Image 100 isn’t a film that’s terribly wildly available but I’ve seen it at a few places and it’s well worth trying out, especially since it’s rather cheap. The more I look at the samples, the more I like the film. There ain’t no award winning photos down below but I like the subdued look it gives and the colours aren’t over done.
Here’s a few samples of Kodak Pro Image 100 shot with a Leica MP and 35mm Summicron V4.
