Intercontinental Hotel Osaka

This is a new hotel situated in an excellent location near shopping, restaurants and close to a lot of tourist attractions.

The Intercontinental Hotel Osaka is one of the better hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan. Rooms are a decent size, bed is comfortable, shower is good so nothing to complain about there. Staff are friendly and the only negative I have is about the breakfast. Ordered French toast one morning and after 25-30 minutes still hadn’t come so ordered a couple of poached eggs and got tired of waiting for that, so left. The guy doing the French toast was clearly out of his depth, running around like a chicken with no head. I was going to tell the hotel I wasn’t paying for that breakfast but when we got back to the room, there was a knock on the door and someone delivering French toast and very apologetic.  Of course, I then felt like a bit of a plonker for storming out of the restaurant like I’d lost my marbles.  Anyway, well done to the Intercontinental Hotel Osaka for at least trying make up for that – forgiven!

Other than that, the Intercontinental Hotel Osaka was above average, everything is new so it’s nice staying there. Pretty much nothing of note to complain about it and and typical (excellent) Japanese service and hospitality. Breakfast issue wouldn’t normally have been a problem but have my son with me and he was wanting to go back to the room, plus we were flying out that day on HK airlines who don’t serve food so needed the big breakfast.

There’s loads of restaurants, cafes and food options within 5-10 minutes so no real need to eat at the hotel, although Grobbler loves room service so we had to have that one night, and that was pretty good.  The Intercontinental Hotel Osaka is a bit pricey but I reckon it’s worth forking out a bit more because it’s new and because of the location.
