Brisbane, Australia

Brisban Photographer

Not really much of interest in particularly to photograph in Brisbane so I’d go with a one camera, once lens setup, probably a 35mm or 50mm, no stunning landscapes or cityscapes although my Fuji16mm it came in handy at the Gabba but wouldn’t have missed it.  I took the Nikon F3 with 50mm and ended up shooting 5 rolls of Fuji Industrial 400 and 5 rolls of Fuji Provia 400X (slide film) and now that I’ve gone through the images, I’d say these were some of my favourite photos. Not because they were fantastic shots and will be winning any awards, just because I got a lot of keepers of Grobbler.

It’s shame that the Nikon F3 is such a heavy cumbersome beast, it’s really not light, and it’s really not small.  The shutter is noisy, it’s not great with the 50mm trying to capture your 4 and a half year old running around after lizards, but the look of the images I really liked. Not sure if that’s the lens or the film.  Either way, I need to shoot with it more.
