Don’t expect there to be opulent luxury at any Cesky Krumlov hotel but do expect most of them to be just like the town – quaint, small, quiet and charming, and something different that what you’re most likely used to. For the size of the town, there’s an awful lot of Cesky Krumlov Hotels (around 30), a lot of which have been apartments or people’s houses, and turned into hotels to make some money. Disclaimer: we unfortunately didn’t stay at any Cesky Krumlov Hotel and all this information was provided by our driver, who was a local, and the porter at the Hallstatt hotel who was Czech and seemed to know the place inside out.
The majority of Cesky Krumlov Hotel prices are between HKD$500 and $1000 per night, depending on season. There’s a few that are more, and they typically get worse overall reviews on all of the major hotel sites. This reaffirms what I was told – that there’s very little different between most of the hotels in Cesky Krumlov, some of the top ones are decorated a bit fancier, some of them are in better locations, but that doesn’t matter so much because the towns so small and you’re never going to be far away from anything.
So basically what I was told is that it’s not worth 1/ spending hours going through all the reviews trying to find the absolute best Cesky Krumlov Hotel and 2/ it doesn’t really matter what hotel you end up because they’re all pretty same, same but different. Plus, most likely you’re only going to be there for a night so do you really need the absolute best Cesky Krumlov Hotel to stay in for 1 night, when you’re going to be out most of the day and probably only going to go back to sleep, have breakfast, then leave.
Most of the Cesky Krumlov Hotels have pretty good ratings, most over 8/10, only a couple over 9. Understand they’re probably not going to bend over backwards for you and not have spas and swimming pools and the like, and you’ll be fine.
