I wouldn’t say there’s that many must-see things to do in Yokohama, but like many cities in Japan, it’s just a nice, clean city to walk around and enjoy. Here’s a few of our favourite things to do in Yokohama.

Sankeien Garden – Beautiful Japanese garden.  Best time visit is in late March or early April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. In July and August, there’s a pond just inside the entrance that’s got thousands of Japanese pink lotus blossoms. In late autumn, you can see the changing colour of the leaves.

Yokohama Minatomirai Manyo Club is a wicked hot spring with baths, relaxation areas and a place to stay overnight if you fancy it. The water is carried from hot springs in Atami and Yugawara 6 times a day on a 20,000 litre truck. There’s a variety of baths, the best of which is the Observation Foot Bath overlooking the Minatomirai area and the Yokohama Bay Bridge. This is a unique and one of the must-do things to in Yokohama.

Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum is the world’s first and most authentic ramen museum. If you like Ramen, put this on your list o things to do in Yokohama.  It opened in 1994 and features local ramen dishes from around Japan, making it an excellent place to try regional specialties from around Japan. The Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum recreates Tokyo as it was in 1958, the year the Tokyo Tower was built and instant noodles were first introduced to the world.

Kirin Yokohama Beer Village – If you know anything about the Japanese, you’ll know they love their beer and it’s the most popular drink in Japan.   At the Kirin Yokohama Beer Village there’s plenty of interesting beers and beer history to get yourself tuned in on and of course beer tours. Kirin Yokohama Beer Village is one of nine factories of the Japan Kirin Group (Chitose, Sendai, Toride, Yokohama, Nagoya, Shiga, Kobe, Okayama, and Fukuoka). Each factory offers free tours that last around 80 minutes. Leave the kids in the hotel for this one.
