When I go to a place like Phuket and I know there’s not much of interest to photograph, I usually use it as a chance to do some experimenting with a new lens or new setup.  Barring that, if I was to go there tomorrow, I’d just take my Leica MP and the 35mm Summicron and just concentrate on photographing my son (which admittedly is what I normally do anywhere). There’s no need to bring all your kit to a place like Phuket, you won’t find anything amazing.
