There’s not a lot of things to do in Langkawi and if you do end up in Langkawi, there’s a high probability you’ll end up at the the Langkawi Sky Bridge because there’s nothing else of interest to do there. You take a Gondola up to the top, walk around, and get an ok view of Langkawi and the surrounding area. When we went up the main bridge wasn’t even open so as far as sky bridges and that type of thing go, pretty average and if you’re trying to decide between the Langkawi Sky Bridge and sitting by the pool doing nothing, I’d probably go for the later. If you’re a bit desperate for things to do in Langkawi, it’s not that bad, a good way to fill in a morning or afternoon but again, I think I’d rather chill out by the pool.
Other than that, there are literally only a handful of things to do in Langkawi and it’s not like the Maldives, where you can at least do nothing and feel like you’re on the best holiday of your life. We basically stayed in the hotel and swam, had a bit of time at Langkawi beach but didn’t find that to be anything remotely worth spending any amount of time at. Even if there were things to in Langkawi, to be fair we probably would have just lazed around the hotel anyway.
Other things to do in Langkawi apparently include a the Langkawi Wildlife Park, Crocodile adventure and some boat tour, none of which get good reviews or come highly recommended. Perhaps we didn’t stay at the right hotel or perhaps the fact that Grobbler was still pretty young had something to do with it, but Langkawi as a destination was completely forgettable, not a terrible holiday, but way down on our list of places to go back to even if there were more things to do in Langkawi.
