India is perhaps not the best place for toddlers and younger kids because let’s face it, how would you go trying to wheel a pram around in the streets of Kolkata!  When they’re a bit older though, it’s a great place to take them to learn about truly different cultures.  Obviously it depends on what kind of personality your kids have and what type of things they’re into, but I’d say as a very general guide, probably best to leave Kolkata with kids until they’re at least 7 years old.
