Kobe, Japan

Except for some parks, the aquarium and maybe the Nunobiki Herb Garden, there’s not a lot to do in Kobe with kids.  The Suma Aqualife Park was pretty wicked, sure it’s a bit old, but so is my Dad and he’s still alright.  There’s a couple of good things here, firstly there’s a room where you can touch some dead fish and fossils, not the best thing in the entire world but pretty good. There’s you typical tunnel with a few sharks and stingrays and outside is the second best thing, penguins you can almost touch.  Now let me tell you something mate, I’m not, and have never been a big penguin fan, but I was quite into these guys, not sure how they survived because they were outside in quite warm weather, but the fact you could get so close was David Hasselhof cool – and he is way cool.

Kobe with Kids

Much like my Dad, I’m struggling to think of anything else decent to do in Kobe with kids, apart from the normal run around like a madman and play silly games.  There’s something called Kobe Anpanman Children’s Museum, had a quick look at that but seems to be mainly for babies, which I am definitely most not anymore so I abandoned before even walking in, plus there were loads of people in there so my Dad would have had a tantrum.

Things to do in Kobe with Kids

Dad doesn’t look too happy but do you think I care?

Now I’ve got a bone to pick with my Mum and Dad, because I’ve been doing some googling myself on what to do in Kobe with kids, and Google has told me there is a zoo!  That’s right, a zoo, and I didn’t get taken to do? Totally and utterly unacceptable! How dare they not tell me about that!  Knowing my Mum and Dad, Mum probably would have known and Dad would have been thinking I don’t need to go to another zoo.  Anyway, since I didn’t go, I can’t comment on it, but if you want to know, you can get some info on the Kobe Zoo here.

I agree with Dad on this one, do Kobe as a day trip from Osaka, you just might get to ride on a train too.
