There’s not a lot of things to do in Ho Chi Minh with kids, if you ask Google (one of my favourite things to do), he’ll struggle to come up with that many answers. However Bro, since I was only there for a few days, I actually found it ok and not too boring. I can however imagine Bro, that if you stayed in Ho Chi Minh with kids for more than a few days, it might get mightily bored for them.
The Can Gio Mangrove Forest was not bad, got to go real fast on a speed boat and had my binoculars the whole time to look out for birds and monitor lizards, The market along the way was not bad too, saw some absolutely big frogs, all tied up with their legs, fish and other delicious morsels that the locals eat. The best part of the trip was the crocodiles, I fed them and they jumped out of the water which was way exciting. It’s a bit of a long day, I carked it on the way back on the boat but I recommend the trip if you’re looking for something to do in Ho Chi Minh with kids.
Walking around the center of town, (see Toucan’s Ho Chi Minh Map for things to do in Ho Chi Minh with kids) was quite good. They had some Chinese New Year celebrations going on and the streets were full of toy vendors which were cheap as charlie. They lasted about 3 minutes before breaking, but hey, no waka bro. I also got to see a Lion Dance, which to me, looked like a bunch of crazy guys doing ridiculous things in lion costumes. My Dad thought it was excellent – what a fruit tip!
