If you’re going to Fukuoka with kids there’s quite a few things to do and see and you’re going to have a great time if you have good weather.
Uminonakamichi Seaside Park – Like my Dad said, awesome park and a must visit in Fukuoka with kids. The best thing is probably the big bouncy white thing – a huge bubble type thing where you can climb, slide and bounce until you have no energy left. There’s a little animal park where you can walk with Capybara’s and some small kangaroo’s. Not really a zoo but pretty good nonetheless. There’s a waterside park, mini golf, dolphin playground, pools, ponds (open only in summer), some go-karts, flowers (seasonal) and a great time is to be had here. Hire a bike because walking around the park can get tiring, it’s a lot of fun and I guarantee you’ll be totally impressed.
Kashii-Kaen Amusement Park – Ageing amusement park but a few good things to do here. I had a great time on the sausage dog ride and the racing cars, and there’s a ferris wheel and a few other rides that will keep you occupied for a while. It’s more for younger kids, maybe like under 4-5 yrs, not too busy and worth it if you’re struggling for things to do in Fukuoka with kids. Not a must-visit but an ok way to spend the morning.
Fukuoka Anpanman Children’s Museum in Mall – This is more suitable for younger kids, like 2-3 yrs old and below. Loads of people here. Basically a museum filled with the world from the animated TV show ‘Let’s Go! Anpanman! Not my favourite thing to do in Fukuoka with kids but if you’re into this type of thing I guess it’s worth going.
Mo-mo Land Aburayama Farm – If you want to get out of the city, hire a car and drive out to Mo-mo Land Aburayama Farm. It’s sort of a farm, massive play area and just a lot of wide open spaces to run around, have a picnic and let off some steam. It’s got a small petting area where you can pat some goats and sheep, some cows that try and eat you and a nice way to spend a day out. Grab some lunch there but if you go weekends or during Japan public holidays, there’s quite a lot of people there so hard to find a seat. maybe best to bring your own food. Nice thing to do in Fukuoka with kids but if you’re from rural areas it’s not going to be that interesting for you.
The baseball was also fun although I got a bit bored after a while so maybe just spend an hour there.
