I’d say Bangkok is more an adult destination but there’s quite a few good things to do in Bangkok with kids also. Not the easiest city to get around with younger kids as the streets aren’t really great for prams, and the heat and traffic can also make it a bit difficult.
Sealife Ocean World Bangkok – Pretty much of the mill aquarium on the basement of Siam Paragon. Siam Paragon is definitely worth a visit so let the kids have some time in the aquarium. It’s actually one of the biggest aquariums in South East Asia, nothing spectacular but a good way to entertain the kids for a few hours.
Safari World – Not a bad zoo type place but can get very hot out here with very little shade. There’s a marine world amusement park next door but I didn’t go to that. Would have been nice to have a swim after seeing the animals because it was so hot. At Safari World they have a drive through safari, some of the animals look in a bit of a sorry state (all over the zoo) but nothing out of the ordinary for zoos in Asia. Worth the drive if you really like zoos but if you’re 50/50 on going maybe give it a miss unless you’re struggling to think of other things to do with kids in Bangkok.
Dinosaur Planet Bangkok – Dinosaur themed amusement park type thing with loads of ride on dino’s and other dinosaur stuff. In my younger years when I was mad about dinosaurs this would have been awesome but I missed it. My Dad’s best friend in Bangkok took his two girls and said it was a bit disappointing. I wouldn’t make a long trip here but if you’re staying along Sukhumvit Road and nearby maybe give it a go.
Kidzania Bangkok – Here’s a description from the manager “we have about 55 Establishments & about 100+ activities operating each day. KidZania is a unique dual offering of entertainment and education for children. We thought it targets children aged from 4 to 14 years old, is a family experience. KidZania offers KidZ the opportunity to make their own decisions, learn to be more independent, learn about teamwork, creativity, social integration, the value of money & how to manage it themselves. More importantly, it helps KidZ develop their confidence & self-esteem through role-playing. For the best activity focusing and learning, the adult is not allowed to participate in the activity. Gets high reviews so I reckon definitely worth a shot if you’re in Bangkok with kids.
Crocodile and Snake Farm – I went here when I was younger and forgot everything. One of Bangkok’s most famous tourist attractions that’s still raking in the money. It’s very touristy but the speedboat/long tail boat ride out there is quite fun and half the entertainment.
