Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland was a pleasant surprise and not like any other hotel in Japan we’ve stayed in. It’s got a European influence but has been done tastefully and the service is absolutely superb, maybe some of the best staff and service of any hotel in Japan. Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland is the first hotel in Japan to become a member of the Small Luxury Hotels in the World and has won the 4 Red Pavillion award from the Michelin Guide Kansai and from what I saw, it’s well deserved.
The rooms at Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland are big (around 70sqm) and ours had two balconies, one overlooking Kobe harbour and the other a huge one with views over the back, which admittedly aren’t that flash, mainly of the highway. Still, the rooms are nice, great shower, large bathroom, huge bath, a perfect little closet area for kids to sleep. well not really a closet, but a little room where you can lay down the Japanese mattresses and the kids can pretend it’s their own little secret world. As far as rooms go at Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland, you couldn’t ask for more. The beds are extremely comfortable!
We only had breakfast here but that was nice, it’s set menu, a little slow and to be honest a bit weak, but so are many breakfasts at Japanese hotels. They served up some pumpkin soup with yoghurt, which was actually alright but not really what I want for breakfast. That was probably the only thing we didn’t rate, and can be forgiven because the staff and everything else about the hotel were so good. It’s in a great location, right on the harbour front and a few minutes walk to a big shopping mall with loads of restaurants to choose from.
