Seoul, Korea

A little bit average but worth a visit if you've never been, think of Seoul as Casey Affleck and Tokyo as Ben Affleck, both are not bad but one is way better

Seoul is a bit too clean and clinical for me and lacks the character and energy of Tokyo. Unlike Tokyo, I don’t really see any reason to go back to Seoul, especially now that Dumb and Dumber (Trump and Kim) are at each other like a couple of retarded 13 year olds.  There’s plenty of things to in Seoul but none that I found particularly great or would want to go back to in a hurry.  A lot of (particularly girls) love it, I suppose the shopping is good, it’s safe, clean and there’s loads of selfie opportunities all over the city.  If you can get passed that horrifyingly sexist sentence then check keep reading for more info on the city that wants to be Tokyo.

To be fair to Casey Affleck, I’ve been to Tokyo and Japan I don’t know how many times, seen the temples, shrines, palaces, the shopping, the neon lights, the fashion and all that, so when I went to Seoul I wasn’t particularly excited about seeing anything there with the exception of a couple of things, which you can read more about in Things to Do in Seoul.

Actually we had booked another 5 day holiday here but basically only because this was the only destination we could get to flying business class and using AsiaMiles (so essentially free) during that particular time. We ended up cancelling due to some shit hitting the fan, plus the fact neither of us were particularly excited about going back and spending 5 days in Seoul.  I wasn’t disappointed at all about not going which pretty much sums up what I think about the city.   There’s nothing particularly or specifically bad about the city, it’s just lacking a bit of soul ironically.
